The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications in the Translational Science & Therapeutics Division of the Fred Hutch and the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP), School of Medicine at the UW. This position would have an annual service period of 12 months [July 1-June 30]. The primary appointment will be in the Translational Science & Therapeutics Division of Fred Hutch.
The selected individual for the advertised position is expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in anatomic pathology/clinical pathology. We seek candidates with expertise in hematopathology and molecular pathology and with interest and experience in pathology related to stem cell transplant and immunotherapy. Interest and expertise in pathology and genomics of lymphoid neoplasms would be preferred. Based on the qualifications, this position could entail a leadership role as medical director of a laboratory location. The person may also have an opportunity to participate in deep immunophenotyping and cell sorting for genomic investigations.
The ideal candidate should have a record of and primary interest in the field of pathology and biology of one or more hematological malignancies as well as an active clinical research interest, demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications. Demonstrable interest and expertise in genomics and precision oncology diagnostics in hematological malignancies is preferred.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $274,689 to $305,431 for faculty hired at the Assistant Professor rank and from $312,892 to $351,993 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank. This position is eligible for relocation assistance or a sign-on bonus.
Preferred Additional Criteria
Applicants must have an MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be American Board of Pathology eligible or certified in anatomic pathology/clinical pathology (or foreign equivalent).
Fellowship training in hematopathology (or foreign equivalent) and molecular pathology (or equivalent experience and expertise) is required. Applicants need to be eligible for licensure in the state of Washington and a faculty appointment at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
