Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) North Sector, in partnership with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a Locum Hematopathologist. (Negotiable term from 1 week up to 1 year)

APL North Sector offers a full range of clinical services including two level I trauma centers, solid organ transplantation, high risk obstetrics, Level 1-3 neonatal intensive care, hematology-oncology, and cardiovascular surgery services.

The locum Hematopathologist will provide medical reporting and consultation on peripheral blood morphology, bone marrow morphology, coagulation and/or flow cytometry cases. Clinical duties may include medical oversight for technologists, regulatory issues, quality assurance, hemovigilance and occurrence management.

Minimum qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta with certification in Hematological Pathology, or an Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or General Pathology with Hematopathology fellowship by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology. A proven track record of collegiality and collaborative practice is required. Physicians must also have current Canadian Medical Protective Association (or equivalent) coverage.
Locum renumeration is based on a daily rate and is commensurate with the level of experience, ranging from $1,744.48 to $2,029.30/per day.
