| Prof. Maurilio Ponzoni President EA4HP Dear members, friends and distinguished colleagues of EA4HP, I hope to find everybody in good shape and let me thank you once again everyone for your participation in our association’s activities. It is now time to turn our attention to the forthcoming meeting, the 23rd for our association, which will be held in Berlin this October, 3-8. The program is quite exciting and will cover “microenvironment in lymphoma and lymphoproliferations” as well as “artificial intelligence in bone marrow diagnostics and myeloid neoplasm classification”. The invited speakers of our sessions, including the educational on Saturday, are outstanding. As usual, we received several abstracts and challenging cases that will be presented both during our Symposium and Lymphoma /Bone Marrow Workshops, respectively. As a pleasant custom, many non-European delegates will join us from any continent, further providing the concrete evidence that, together with our sister organisation Society for Hematopathology (SH), EA4HP represents a referral organisation in the field of our beloved discipline. Of paramount significance, our meeting will have also the chance to provide, together with usual educational lectures and workshops, a special session devoted to update our delegates about the steps adopted by the CAM to prepare the next unified WHO Classification on Haematological Neoplasms (HAEM6). It is very important, and I encourage it, that also those colleagues that will not participate in person in Berlin will have the chance to follow our meeting virtually. Also related to this issue, we invite everyone to complete an anonymous survey on the WHO website, which asks for comments, proposal of improvements regarding HAEM6. Please fill the survey clicking on the following link: WCT Haematolymphoid tumours 6th edition survey . Note that the deadline for completing this survey will be September 25th. It is very important that our entire community will have the chance to formulate constructive considerations. This huge work could not be done without the critical contribution provided by our local organiser, Professor Ioannis Anagnostopoulos, supported by the entire EXCO. A special thanks must be extended also to our young EA4HP, and to our CPO MCI Berlin. It is also my honour and pleasure to announce that the Karl Lennert Lecture Medal, an invaluable recognition for our community, will be conferred to Professor S.H. Swerdlow for his own invaluable contributions to the field of haematopathology. We are looking forward to hearing Professor Swerdlow’s lecture. Berlin activities, held in a fashioned venue represented by Kosmos Congress Center in the east part of the city, will be accomplished via a relaxing social program. Another important goal of our association relies in its educational activity. During the last eight months, two webinars were focused on haematopathology of inborn errors of immunity and plasma cell neoplasm, respectively. These webinars, organised and moderated by excellent colleagues, were increasingly very well attended. In September, our association will actively attend the European Congress in Pathology, held in Stockholm with different topics across the entire meeting.
